Net-zero does not mean zero emissions!

Carbon capture is a vital part of the strategy, helping us to remove greenhouse gases emitted from hard-to-abate sources like aviation and livestock. Moreover, carbon capture is the integral mechanism in 2oc-target models which predict some degree of ‘overshoot’. This week at MEGA they introduce companies from two of the main carbon capture modes: geological (Origen Power) and biological (CyanoCapture).

Tim Kruger is Founder and Chief Scientist of Origen, is a Senior Associate at Oxford Net Zero and led the Oxford Martin School’s Geoengineering Programme from 2010-2022.

Amrit Gill is a molecular biologist at CyanoCapture having recently graduated from Natural Sciences at Cambridge. They will be delivering their complementary insights from differing technologies and career stages. As ever, there is a new flavour of free organic wine to accompany the talk!
