Major battery project boosts UK grid flexibility and cuts emissions.
A major battery storage project in Scotland is set to accelerate the UK’s transition to a more flexible and low-carbon energy system.
Matrix Renewables has secured £245 million in financing to build a 500MW / 1,000MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Eccles–Leitholm, supporting the integration of renewable energy and reducing emissions.
