THIS IS AN INPERSON AND ONLINE EVENT

Summary: In his new book Chris looks at the remaining challenges for the energy transition. We know that we need to ‘electrify everything we can’ and that our power sources will be predominantly solar and wind. But what about the more intractable problems? Possible: Ways to Net Zero examines 18 different challenges, ranging from the cement industry or plastics through raw material shortages to issues such as capital shortages. In each short chapter Chris identifies a possible route and try to put a cost on it. The seminar will summarise the main conclusions.

Speaker: Possible is Chris Goodall’s sixth book on various aspects of the energy transition. They have won awards and two have been among the FT’s books of the year. He is also an investor in climate tech startups and chaired one of the UK’s largest car charging companies before its sale to Engie. His current activities include an attempt to develop local community horticulture in the Oxford area.
