Winser report on energy networks offers plan for necessary transformation

An independent report, put together by the government’s inaugural Electricity Networks Commissioner sets out recommendations for accelerating the rollout of electricity transmission infrastructure, crucial to moving electricity sources to where it is most needed.
The report includes proposals to government on streamlining the consenting process for major schemes, and for a more strategic approach to planning the future of networks spatially.
