UK battery recycling firm nets £1m for battery transport project
Tuesday 15 Jul 2025
UK battery recycling firm Altilium has secured £1m from the Advanced Propulsion Centre to develop a low carbon transport solution for end-of-life EV batteries.
According to Altilium, transportation on average accounts for 41 per cent of the total cost of EV battery recycling while contributing up to 3.5 per cent of lifecycle emissions. The new project will see Altilium create a prototype designed specifically to address these issues, enabling sustainable and cost-efficient collection of large volumes of end-of-life EV batteries.
