Transport Scotland seek to deliver a safe, efficient, cost-effective and sustainable transport system for the benefit of the people of Scotland, playing a key role in helping to achieve the Scottish Government’s Purpose of increasing sustainable economic growth with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish.

Scotland’s National Transport Strategy 2 (NTS2) sets out the vision for Scotland’s transport system to the year 2040. The NTS2 outlines the four priorities for the transport system: reduces inequalities; takes climate action; helps deliver inclusive economic growth; and improves health and wellbeing. The first NTS2 Delivery Plan sets out strategic policies and the broad actions the Scottish Government (SG) is taking to deliver on its vision and priorities to the end of March 2022, taking account of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The following impact assessments are being undertaken: Social and Equality Impact Assessment (incorporating an Equality Impact Assessment; Children’s Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment, Fairer Scotland Duty Assessment); Island Communities Impact Assessment; Health Inequality Impact Assessment; and Business Regulatory Impact Assessment.
