Fellowship: British Academy Innovation Fellowship Scheme – call for applications from the Humanities and Social Sciences

Alt text coming shortly
Oxford is a world-leading centre of learning, teaching and research and the oldest university in the English-speaking world.

The Innovation Fellowship scheme is a dual-route scheme, funded by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to enable researchers in the humanities and social sciences to partner with organisations and businesses in the creative and cultural, public, private and policy sectors.

The British Academy is inviting applications for a researcher-led Innovation Fellowship (Route A), through which applicants must apply with a partner they have identified. Route A awards will have a maximum value of £120,0000 and the Lead Applicant must commit between 0.4 and 0.8 FTE time to the Fellowship. Applications are welcome from early- and mid-career researchers. The British Academy will shortly invite applications for a policy-led Innovation Fellowship (Route B) through which applicants will work with one of the British Academy’s named policy partners. We will share details of this second call with OPEN members when they are made available. If you would like to apply for a researcher-led Innovation Fellowship (Route A) with a public policy partner, you can contact our Humanities and Public Policy Officer, Jessica Simkiss (for researchers within the Humanities Division) or Head of Policy Engagement, Will Pryor (for researchers within the Social Sciences Division) to discuss your application and/or potential partners.

• Starting period of award: between 1 March 2022 and 31 March 2022
• Duration of award: six to twelve months
• Internal timeframe: please discuss your application with your Faculty Research Facilitator or Head of Administration and Finance as early as possible as you will need to submit an X5 costing to your faculty before the application deadline.

Deadline: 17:00 GMT, 8 December 2021
