Energy and Carbon in the Anthropocene – Webinar recording available now.

Nick Eyre began the Michaelmas Colloquium series with a talk on ‘Energy and Carbon in the Anthropocene’ which also acted as an early lecture for Masters students in the School of Geography and Environment.

The talk sets the future of energy in the context of the idea of the Anthropocene, the era of human domination of the Earth. It argues that, to prevent dangerous climate change, we need a rapid transition in our energy systems towards sustainable systems. The available evidence indicates that these will need to be based on energy efficiency and renewable energy. Whilst there are challenges to overcome, such systems are now possible and beginning to happen.

The recording of this event is available on YouTube.  You can watch it here Energy and Carbon in the Anthropocene.
