Oil and gas producers have a clear opportunity to address the problem of emissions from their activities through a series of ready-to-implement and cost effective measures.

A World Energy Outlook Special Report on the Oil and Gas Industry and COP28.

Activities associated with extracting, processing and delivering oil and gas account for nearly 15% of energy-related emissions. According to the IEA’s World Outlook Special Report, these emissions could be cut by 60% over the next 7 years. A halving of emissions intensity would require an investment of $600bn; the remaining reduction would be expected from decline in consumption.
