Summary: The transition to a hydrogen economy won’t happen all at once. It needs commercially viable solutions that work now, at scale. In this seminar, Ian Wilkinson, COO at GeoPura, will outline how the company is building a market for clean hydrogen through targeted, high-impact applications – from construction sites and live TV broadcasts to powering entire festivals. He will discuss the technical and commercial approach GeoPura takes across hydrogen production, storage and use, and how this integrated model is helping prove the business case for hydrogen while laying the groundwork for national and global scale-up.
Speaker: Ian joined GeoPura in 2022, after leading the UK Energy Transition Technology team at Siemens Energy. He has more than eight years of commercial experience in energy decarbonisation, with a particular focus on hydrogen and hydrogen carriers like ammonia. Ian played a key role in establishing Siemens Energy’s partnership with GeoPura and led the team behind the Green Ammonia demonstrator at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. He holds a Masters and PhD in physics from the University of Bristol, and an MBA from Oxford Brookes University.
