Unlocking accurate SoC, deeper SoH insights, and early fault detection to advance battery performance in the data-driven BESS era.
Summary: As the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry accelerates alongside renewable energy adoption, advanced battery management is becoming essential. While traditional Battery Management Systems (BMS) provide critical safety and operational control, they often lack precision in State of Charge (SoC) estimates and offer limited insight into long-term battery health. Predictive analytics fills these gaps by leveraging real-world data to uncover manufacturing deficiencies and enhance accuracy in SoC and State of Health (SoH) metrics. This presentation explores how predictive analytics can drive smarter, more reliable energy storage, thus empowering stakeholders to optimize battery performance in a rapidly evolving, data-driven energy landscape.
Speaker: Elizabeth Oliphant is a Global Solutions Manager at ACCURE Battery Intelligence, leading predictive analytics adoption in the rapidly growing BESS sector. Originally from California, she grew up near San Francisco in a software and startup focused environment, fueling her passion for innovative, data-driven solutions. She began her energy journey studying geology and energy at the University of Michigan, followed by a Fulbright Fellowship in Indonesia researching geothermal energy. After earning an MSc in Energy Systems from the University of Oxford, she worked in clean-tech strategy consulting. There she saw the rapid rise of the battery sector leading her to look for current role at ACCURE. Her work bridges technical depth with global energy market insight.
