  • Finish    Tuesday 14 Nov 2023 1:00pm

Peter Mallaburn is the Government Affairs Manager for CREDS providing a liaison role between CREDS and UK Government Departments. He is currently also doing a part-time secondment to DESNZ in the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme where he is supporting the work on non-domestic heat pump deployment.

This session will be run as a ‘Drop-in’ style where Peter will provide a 15-minute outline of how government policy actually works, covering the role of Ministers and civil servants, interactions with other departments and key stages such as impact assessments, consultations and calls for evidence. Peter will focus particularly on how government uses research outputs, including key insights for academics on maximising their policy impact.

Then the remainder of the session will be for you to ask questions in relation to your work and increasing policy impact
